Our Social Services
This is an arm of the Social services Directorate mandated to deal with issues relating to promotion of justice and peace.Its efforts center on upholding human dignity through institutionalizing principles of democracy, respect for human rights and freedoms, citizen participation, good governance, rule of law, and promoting access to quality public services.
This is a development arm of the Diocese which focuses on food security, disaster risk reduction, shelter, relief, water and sanitation, HIV/AIDS, environment conservation, and many others. Its current and most recent activities Borehole drilling, toilet construction, small scale irrigation schemes establishment, promotion of livestock production and best agriculture practices.
It is an arm of the Catholic Church whose mission, mandate and vision derive from the gospel of Luke 4:18 and from the directive by Jesus to go and teach and baptize, Mt 28:19. Its mandate is to promote, propagate and defend the kingdom of God through education and training. Its vision is to provide holistic education that enhances the self – esteem and dignity of the human person in the atmosphere of truth, belonging, care and concern for all. Its mission is to strive to live and witness through quality value based education for all expressed through the gospel values. As a commission in the diocese, it oversees and supervises all education institutions especially primary and secondary schools; making sure that they are providing quality education for all and adhering to Catholic values. Currently there are 89 primary schools, 5 community day secondary schools, 1 minor seminary and 1 girls boarding secondary school.
The Social Research and Commission is the arm of the Diocese of Chikwawa that is responsible for connecting the diocese to the rest of the world through public image management, making the Diocese visible and propagate the faith and the Gospel through information technology.
This is a commission under the Diocesan Social Services Directorate that mainly coordinates the provision of health services in the Diocese. Its establishment was premised on the need to continue the holistic ministry of Christ through provision of curative, rehabilitative, educational and preventive programs that ensure quality and affordable health services.
