The Diocese of Chikwawa will celebrate the Chrism Mass on Monday, 30th March. During this celebration, holy oils that are used by Bishops and priests in administering different sacraments are blessed. At this celebration, priests recommit themselves to the priesthood by taking their priestly vows. It is the day priests celebrate their brotherhood and the gift of Holy Orders.

The celebration is customarily supposed to be held on Maundy Thursday or Holy Thursday, but for pastoral reasons, each Diocese is allowed to choose a fitting day within the Holy Week.
