The body of late Luciano Lloyd has been laid to rest today in Chikwawa. Late Luciano died on Wednesday in Mchinji after being hit by a vehicle. According to the narrative by Fr Enock Kanjira, the rector for Kachebere Major Seminary, Luciano met his fate as he was coming from sporting activity outside the school campus and was later identified by the police who communicated to the school authorities. In his homily, Fr Yohane Nzondola asked the Christians to leave a good legacy as they depart this life just like the deceased. He then exhorted them not despair by focusing on longevity of life but rather now that a good legacy in the eyes of the Lord is coupled with doing God’s will. Delivering his eulogy on behalf of Bishop Musikuwa, Fr Cosmas Chasukwa who is the Vicar General for the Diocese, called on Christians not to lose hope but instead send more young men to seminaries where they will be nurtured as priests. Archbishop George Desmond Tambala this evening led the celebration of vigil funeral mass for the departed seminarian Luciano Lloyd. Speaking in a tone that sought to comfort the grieving congregation, the Archbishop acknowledged that there are many events and occurrences in our lives that often leave us dumbfounded. He reckons that in all these, we must let God be God. Referring to the book of Wisdom, he explained the complexity of life and the unavoidable conclusion for believers. ” As we live, some experiences in our lives may surprise us. Some death occurrences may lead us to ask, why Lord? In all these it is hard to find convincing answers. Hence finally, as believers, we have to say let God be God for everything is in His hands including those who die” The Archbishop said. The body of late Luciano was brought into the seminary chapel carried by his fellow seminarians in a view that was both shocking and touching. Meanwhile, the Diocese of Chikwawa has announced that the remains will be ferried to Chikwawa early in the morning tomorrow 28th February and vigil mass will be celebrated at St Michaels Cathedral.
