Divine Mercy Sunday
Be agents of God’s peace
Readings: Acts 5:12 – 16; Rev 1:9-11, 12-13, 17- 19; John 20: 19- 31
We celebrate today the Divine Mercy on the second Sunday of Easter. Pope St John Paul II pronounced the devotion in the year 2000.
As we continue to rejoice in the triumph of our Lord over death, we recall the Lord’s mercy through his sacrifice on the cross. Through his sacrifice on the cross, God calls us to be agents of his mercy.
Just as Peter in the first reading, we are all called to be agents of God’s mercy by being available to our suffering brothers and sisters.
The Peter event clearly shows that each and every one of us is called to take a part. Peter as weak as he was, was made an agent of God’s mercy. We too in our limited nature are called to bring God’s mercy to others.
let us all be agents of God’s love and mercy.
